EU/EEA Citizen Support
Permits and Registrations
All EU/EEA Citizens have the right to reside in Sweden without a work or residence permit for a period of three months (90 days) from the arrival in the country. Such a stay can be extended indefinitely as long as the individual works, studies or runs a business in Sweden, or as long as they possess sufficient means to support themselves. The right to reside in Sweden on such grounds is also automatically extended to your partner or dependent relatives as long as they are themselves EU or EEA citizens and you have sufficient means to support them. Any dependent relatives who are not EEA or EU citizens need to apply with the Swedish Migration Board for a residency permit if they are to stay longer than 3 months or need a Visa to enter Sweden. Additionally, if you are to work in Sweden or reside here for one year or more, it is necessary to register in the Swedish census through the tax authorities (Swe. “Skatteverket”).
E101/A1 certificate
For short-term assignments, it might be interesting for an EU/EEA Citizen to be covered by an E101/A1 certificate. If the Swedish Tax Authority approves the E101/A1 certificate, the EU/EEA Citizen continues paying social tax in his/her home country and keeps all pension and other benefits in his/her home country. Aurenav can provide assistance in all the steps of this procedure.
Aurenav can help you find the best solutions for your stay in Sweden.
