Employment and Taxes

Swedish Tax Authority Skatteverket	This site contains information and a number of common tax forms in English. Most of the site content is only available in Swedish. Sweden, in cooperation with other Nordic countries, now provides more detailed English tax information on the Nordisk eTax web site described below.
Nordisk eTax	This site contains information in English on income and property taxes in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland. The information is maintained by the respective national tax administrations and provided in cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Swedish Migration Board Migrationsverket	This site contains information on immigration, naturalization, residence and work visas, and application forms in English.

Passports and National ID Cards

Swedish National Police Service Polisen	This site is primarily in Swedish with limited information in English. Swedish passports (pass) and national identity cards (nationellt id-kort) are issued by the national police passport offices (passexpeditionen). The passport offices are co-located within designated regional police stations. Effective 01 October 2005, Sweden has implemented the ICAO international security standard for both passports and national ID cards. The new passports now support electronic (e-passport) biometric standards required for international travel. The national ID cards allow travel without a passport within the whole European Economic Area (EEA).

Sweden.se	The official website of Sweden, which contains general information in English about Sweden and its culture and business life.
Swedish Patent and Registration Office Patent och Registreringsverket (PRV)	English website of the Swedish Patent and Registration Office, which handles the registering of company names, trademarks, and patents.
Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth Tillväxtverket	This site is an information clearinghouse for Swedish economic policy issues and provides information for establishing new businesses in Sweden.
Verksamt.se	This site is about starting, running and developing business in Sweden. The site regroups information in English from the three main relevant authorities, namely the Tax Authority (Skatteverket), the Registrar of Companies (bolagsversket) and the agency for Economicla and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket).
Stockholm Enterprise Agency NyföretagarCentrum	If you are starting a new business in Sweden, this is one of the first places that you can go to get information and help. The Stockholm Enterprise Agency offers consultations, free of charge, to anyone thinking of starting up their own company. They assist with the evaluation of the business idea and offer advice on how to continue. Stockholm Enterprise Agency is independent and neutral in connection to other established companies, banks and authorities. They operate a policy of strict confidentiality. They serve as a sounding board that many new entrepreneurs need in the initial stages. Stockholm Enterprise Agency is your contact link to a large network of professionals and companies who have an expressed interest in the successful growth and development of new enterprises. The Enterprise Agency operates with strict principals and guidelines approved by the Board: The Agency must focus solely on new entrepreneurs. Consultations must be free of charge, confidential and objective. Consultations must be of professional standard and promote serious entrepreneurship. The Enterprise Agency must function in a local network of advisors within its geographical area. Financing of the Agency must mainly come from the local enterprise/trade and industry economy support. The Enterprise Agency must be open to all new business ideas/concepts from any individual, regardless of race, sex or religion. The Board of the Enterprise Agency must be made up mainly of representatives from local trade and industry. Consumer Protection

ECC Sweden Konsument Europa	European Consumer Centers Network, which provides information about consumer rights in Sweden and the rest of the European Union.
National Board for Consumer Complaints Allmänna Reklamationsnämnden (ARN)	The National Board for Consumer Complaints (ARN) is a public authority that functions roughly like a court. Its main task is to impartially try disputes between consumers and business operators. Petitions are filed by the consumer. The Board submits recommendations on how disputes should be resolved; however, the Board's recommendations are not binding, but the majority of companies nonetheless follow them. The Board does not provide advice on individual cases. A petition to ARN must be made within six months of the first time the business operator rejects your claims in part or in whole. If the business operator does not respond to your complaint at all, it is considered as if he/she has rejected your claims. The Board's inquiry is normally limited to contracts that have been entered into in Sweden.
